Kids DIY Electric Door STEM Kit

Trade Screen Time for a Real Build.

If you want your kids doing something hands-on instead of staring at a screen, this kids DIY electric door STEM kit fixes that. They build and wire a working electric door model, so circuits and mechanics turn into something they can see and test for themselves.

Good for: too much kid screen time · rainy-day projects · STEM gifts for grandkids.

Why You'll Love It

• Hands-on assembly teaches basic circuitry and mechanics through a real working model.
• STEM and science-fiction theme keeps the build engaging from start to finish.
• Ends with a working 3D electric-door mechanism kids can operate and explore.

Perfect For

• Kids curious about how circuits and motors work
• Rainy-day or screen-free afternoon projects
• Gifting alongside other STEM or building toys

Color: ships in light green. The photos show the orange version of the same kit. The assembled model measures about 8.3 × 5.4 × 1.6 in (210 × 137 × 40 mm), with a door opening of about 3.2 × 3.4 in (81 × 87 mm), and weighs about 6 to 6.3 oz (170 to 180 g). Ships as a boxed kit with assembly required. Check the package's age recommendation and power requirements before ordering, and plan for adult supervision during assembly and with electrical components. This is a small educational model, not a full-size door or home door opener.

Starting over at 70 reminded me how good it feels to make something with your own hands. A kit like this gives kids that feeling early. — Jonine
