I started this store at 70, in the middle of getting a second chance at life.
I was recovering — relearning my own strength, and rebuilding a home around what I could actually do rather than what I used to be able to do. I wanted a place that felt calm and deliberate, where the things I reached for every day worked with me. Not a showroom. A home that made an ordinary morning easier.
What surprised me was how hard that was to shop for.
Plenty of things looked good. Fewer of them were designed by anyone who had thought about tired hands, or a shelf you can't reach, or the drawer you dread opening. The good ones existed — they were just buried under a hundred that didn't.
So I started keeping a list. That list became Luna Select Market.
One question: does this make life at home better?
Sometimes that means removing a friction — the crumbs behind the stove, the jar you can't open, the dark hallway at midnight. Sometimes it means adding a comfort — warmth on a bad neck, a softer light at bedtime, a chair you can actually rest in.
Both count. A home that works for you isn't only the tidy parts.
